Stan Swami is person who fought for the rights of Tribal in Jharkhand, discrimination and injustice to the tirbals are been questioned by Stan Swami . All though his occupation is Father in Roman Cathelic, he played a vital role in protesting against the discrimination among the Tribals in that state.
Stan Swami had also filed many public interest litigations regarding to undertrial prisoners and Tirbes . Stan Swamy also fought for the implementation of Fifth Schedule of the Constitution of India. Stany Swami is the person who fought for the "Land Bank ".
In other words Stand Swami had stood as a guarding agent to restore the rights of the Adivasi, Tribes .
What are the charges on Stan Swamy ?
Bhima Koregaon Case: on 1st January 2018 there was a celebration conducted in Elgar Parishand, Shaniwar Wada in Pune. That celebrations include two retired Judges as speakers, one Legislative member . Every year the Celebrations will be conducted peaceful but in the year of 2018 the neighboring Villages build a question that who preformed the last rights of Maratha ruler Sambhaji. The issue had become heated the surrounding village. The issue even lead to issue notice to Villagers to Boycott the event by Bhima Koregaon Panchayathi.
Mean while riots occurred in the event, even a 16 year teen was died and many families reported injuries, that event resulted many protests 30 people were injured more than 300 people were detained . The issue burnt Maharashtra for few days.
In connection to the riots the NIA framed charges against Stan Swami and other activists. While framing the charges it was mentioned that Stan Swamy have/had connections with banned CPI(Maoist) party, even raids were conducted in his residence. NIA declared that there are some slogans and material evidence founded in Stan Swamy computer.
Stan Swamy had alleged that every thing was cooked against him to frame charges against him. He was sentenced to Judicial custody in Mumbai. His bail was refused to various reason. At last he was moved to Hospital with result of Covid-19 positive in Jail and as a result he was died to Cardiac Arrest.
Whether NIA asked his remand /custody?
The answer is no!!
It can be noted that Pragya Singh Thakur former BJP leader who was charged by the NIA for terrorism was granted bail in the year of 2017 in health grounds . Although the charges were different the subject matter was similar in seeking bail.
